Pre Seeason Challenge Rules
Rules for Valley Preseason Challenge Competition
General Rules
Game duration is two 25 minute halves with a 5 minute half time break. All games will commence on time as shown in the draw.
There is only 5 minutes between games so warm up on the turf will be quite limited. Grass fields can be used for warm ups.
Teams named on the left hand side of the draw shall occupy the left side dugout. The left side dugout is identified when viewing the field from the technical bench.
Players playing in the next game should leave their gear away from the dugout prior to the game. This will allow the currently competing teams to easily gather their gear at the conclusion of their game and vacate the player’s bench.
After completion of a game, players should vacate the field and player’s bench as soon as possible.
Playing Rules
There is no limit to the number of players who may participate in a pool game. Classification and finals games will have the normal player limit of 16 per game.
There is no timeout for injury. Players with minor injuries should endeavour to remove themselves from the field as soon as possible
Commencement and finishing times of games and half time breaks will be controlled from the technical bench. ALL games time WILL commence and finish at the indication of the technical bench. Teams should be ready to play to avoid loss of game time.
Player substitutions must be made from the centre line. Manager to take the player to centre line and only allow that player to take the field when the substituted player exits the field at the centre line.
Captains/team representative must immediately after the game sign the game result sheet at the technical bench to confirm the result.
Umpires
Allocated team umpires must report to the technical bench at least 5 minutes before your allocated game.
Draws
If there is a draw in the Classification games the team with the highest position in their pool will be deemed the winner.
Draws in finals games will be decided by a penalty stroke competition.
