The Juniors Competition

Juniors can be really divided into two major areas.

  • Under 13 years of age, mixed team competition.
  • 13 years and older, boys only competition.

The ability for the younger boys and girls to play in the same competition is very popular with young families. This means their children can all be playing the one sport in the one location. This provides a very strong family focus for the club.

After the season in which they turn 13, the girls move across to Valley Womens Hockey Club for the girls only competition. The boys move into playing the boys only J Grade competition.

J Grade - The boys aged 13 up to 17 years play in the "J" competition but are split into 3 division based on skill level. This is done to allow for the games to be competitive between the teams each week. All these games are played on the synthetic turf surfaces.

Under 13 and 11 competition. Girls up to the age of 13 are able to play in these competitions with the boys. These competitions are played on both grass and synthetic surfaces.

Under 9 years Under 7's Competitions are for the really young ones. Under 7's is really anyone younger who wants to run around on the field. This competition is played on a Friday night at venues around Brisbane which are called hubs. The children are taught the skills of the game with a strong focus on enjoyment. At the end of a 10 week cycle, the hubs get together at one venue to allow the children to plays small games against different children.
